The salon is owned and run by Flora, who opened her first salon in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2005. After moving to Maryland in 2009 she opened International Beauty Salon in Laurel, and later moved the business to Bowie and opened the current location.

Appointments are preferred. The salon is open Monday and Wednesday through Sunday from 9 AM to 7 PM, and Tuesdays are by appointment only. Visits take place in a private room, and the location is wheelchair accessible. Free WiFi is available.

The salon works with children ages 3 and older and with clients who have alopecia. Braiding hair can be treated for clients with synthetic hair reactions, on request. The gallery shows braids and locs, weaves, children's styles, and men's and boys' styles.

Payment is accepted by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Zelle and cash. The salon also rents booths to stylists, with booth rentals starting at $150.
