There is no sign outside, so the studio can be hard to spot at first. Look for a green cactus by the curb and the number 1402 on a grey fence. Parking is available on the street across from the brown house or in the driveway on the house's right side. The front door has a security lock, and the access code comes in the appointment confirmation email and reminder text. After entering the lobby, the restroom is on the right in the waiting area.
Waxing covers the lip, chin, sideburns and nostrils, along with underarms, half arms, half legs, buttocks and the bikini area. Brazilian waxing comes in three versions: a full removal from top to bottom, a version that leaves a strip, triangle or more on top, and a first-visit appointment with extra time to explain the process and the pre- and post-wax steps. Waxing is offered to both first-time and experienced clients, but not to male clients; referrals are given for male waxing. Clients who usually shave should let hair grow at least two weeks before a first wax, and hair should be at least 1/4 inch long. Tanning should be avoided 24 hours before or after waxing, and exercise is discouraged within 24 hours after a bikini, Brazilian, chest or back wax.
Three facials are offered. The 4-layer Signature Facial is a 30-minute treatment built on vitamin C, glycolic acid and enzymes, with a vitamin C, antioxidant and peptide combination, and it is suited to environmentally damaged, dry, dehydrated, dull, oily and rosacea skin. The 50-minute Oxygen Facial uses papaya and pineapple enzymes, an oxygenating masque, and plant-derived stem cells and peptides. The 60-minute Stress Solution Spa Facial is customized and includes cleansing, exfoliation, masks, facial massage and extractions when needed. Deep cleansing acne facials are not offered, and chronic acne is referred out. Clients using topical acne medication, retinoids, or glycolic or AHA products should consult before facial waxing, and waxing is not recommended for clients on Accutane.
Bookings are confirmed 48 hours ahead, and a credit card is kept on file. Cancellations or changes made with less than 24 hours notice are charged 50% of the reserved amount, and no-shows are charged in full. Late arrivals pay full price and may have a shortened appointment, since appointments start and end on time. Retail items can be returned if unused, in original packaging, within five days. Military members with proof of identification receive 15% off all services, and students with valid student identification receive 10% off. Cash and major credit cards are accepted, with sales tax charged when applicable. Client information is kept confidential. The salon describes itself as Austin's best waxing studio, says Austin Monthly's Best of Beauty issue named it the #1 Spa for Body Waxing in Austin twice, and reports a 5-star average from 450 reviews.
