Nikole Wood founded Blondie's Salon in 2009 after moving to the Dallas metroplex from Louisiana. The salon takes its name from her mother and mentor, Sharon. The salon states that it has been voted Best of Plano year after year.

Stylists work as a team and share techniques and formulas, so a client is not tied to a single stylist. The team includes color and extension specialists as well as barbers and haircutters, and the salon has a colorist, a new talent stylist and a salon assistant on staff.

Clients can book online at any hour, or call or text during business hours. Every appointment begins with a detailed consultation that covers goals, a plan and pricing. Services start with a scalp cleansing and massage in the shampoo room, using products chosen for the client's hair and scalp. New clients get a complimentary 15-minute consultation, and extension consultations are also free.

Color services use Joico exclusively. Pricing ranges from about $70 for a toner or gloss and style to $366 for balayage and style, with full foil and virgin highlights, all-over color and fashion shades in between. Color correction starts with a consultation and is priced hourly. Extension services cover hand-tied, micro-link or I-tip, tape-in and fusion or K-tip methods, with install and removal priced separately from hair. Men's haircuts are $28 without shampoo or $38 with, and perms and an Agave smoothing treatment start at $65, $120 and $200.

The salon's policies: if a client is not satisfied within two weeks of the appointment, the cut or color is adjusted at no additional cost. If a client wants a result different from what was discussed, there may be a charge for the services performed. Cancellations are accepted up to 24 hours before the service; cancellations made within 24 hours are charged 50% of the scheduled cost. The front desk offers guests soft drinks, water, hot tea, wine and mixed drinks made with a Bartesian machine.

The team shares techniques and formulas, and each visit starts with a consultation and a scalp cleansing and massage using products selected for the client's hair and scalp.
