Birch Salon

Birch Salon opened in 2013 and is owned by Hillary, who works as a master stylist. The salon sits at the corner of Parkwood and Belmont avenues in Carytown, one block south of Cary Street. Its service menu is grouped under haircuts, color, texture and eyebrows.

Rather than assigning clients at random, the salon uses a leveling system to pair each client with a stylist. Stylists are grouped by experience, strengths and education, so a booking can be matched to the work a client needs. New clients can ask for a complimentary consultation, and appointments are requested through the contact form or by phone and confirmed before they are booked.

Color is a large part of the menu. Single process color and touch-ups are offered, along with foil highlights and balayage in mini, partial and full sizes. Color correction, bleach and tone, and fashion shades are offered by consultation only, and a toner is recommended with most coloring services. Stand-alone toner is also available. Texture services include express keratin and keratin smoothing treatments.

Eyebrow services include tinting and lamination, each on its own or together, plus eyebrow and lip waxing. Prices depend on the time a service takes and on hair length and density, and all listed prices are starting prices that vary by stylist. The salon says it is committed to full customer satisfaction, and clients who are not satisfied can contact the salon within 7 days of their appointment.
