Belt Salon was founded in 2022 by John and Laura Belt, who spent more than a year shaping their shared idea before opening. It is an Aveda Concept Salon, and the owners say the goal is personal style and individual beauty for each guest.

The Bradenton salon serves clients from Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, East Bradenton, Parrish and Ellenton, and sits about 5 to 10 minutes from most of Lakewood Ranch. The Parrish/Palmetto salon serves Bradenton, Palmetto, Parrish, Ellenton, Ruskin and Apollo Beach and is about 20 minutes north of Lakewood Ranch by I-75. Both locations have free parking on site, and bridal hair is offered in Bradenton.

A visit usually starts with a complimentary consultation, where the stylist looks at hair condition and goals. New guests are matched with a stylist based on their needs. Booking is done online, and same-day openings are sometimes available by calling. Clients are asked to arrive 10 minutes early and to give 24 hours notice when canceling or rescheduling. Late cancellations may be charged half the service price and no-shows the full price. Credit card payments carry a 3 percent processing fee, while cash has none. Hair extensions are a major focus. Methods include tape-in, hand-tied, invisible bead (IBE), keratin bond, and the IBE, JZ and Dreamcatchers methods. Extensions are made from 100 percent Remy human hair. Extension consultations are free, usually run 20 to 30 minutes, and carry no obligation. Extension hair is bought separately, belongs to the client, and can be reused at maintenance visits. Tape-ins need a move-up appointment every 6 to 8 weeks, hand-tied and IBE extensions need maintenance every 8 to 10 weeks, and keratin bonds take about 2 to 4 hours to install and last 3 to 5 months between visits. A follow-up check is included two weeks after installation. The salon says its extension methods are gentle and damage-free when a trained professional installs and maintains them.

The salon backs local events, schools and charitable causes. Laura Belt offers complimentary haircuts for children from low-income households at the start of the school year, working alongside the area food pantry. According to the salon, it is a high-end hair studio and the top place in Manatee County for professional extensions, and it says it earned the Bradenton's Best Salon title.
