Beloved Balayage was founded by Andres Covarrubias, who runs the studio as its owner and stylist. The studio sits inside The Suite Place Salon Suites in Carlsbad and serves guests from Carlsbad and greater San Diego County. Because only one guest is booked at a time, appointments never overlap and the space stays calm and unhurried.

A visit opens with a conversation about the guest's lifestyle, followed by a review of their hair health and the service planned for that day. Guests are offered refreshments such as sparkling water or a warm latte, and quiet music plays during the appointment. Each visit ends with aftercare and maintenance guidance, a written care list and a card for questions after the appointment. First-time guests begin with a Hair Color Analysis, a one-hour consultation for $75 whose fee may be credited toward a custom color or balayage booking.

The flagship service is hand-painted balayage, which uses the guest's natural pigment and is applied without foil marks. It is designed to grow out softly so it needs little upkeep between appointments, and it includes a custom cut and a finished blowout in one sitting. Custom Color uses advanced formulations to build tones with depth and ribbons of color, aimed at hair with uneven tone or color that feels flat, harsh or hard to keep up. Signature Color Experiences combine hand-painted balayage or custom color with cutting, toning and repair. The studio also offers bespoke French haircutting, with cuts shaped around the way each guest's hair grows.

Beyond color, the menu includes the Gloss Ritual, a one-hour gloss finished with a blowout, and Gloss & Tone, which refines tone and adds a high-shine finish. Scalp treatments include the Scalp Facial, which begins with an exfoliating pre-wash, and the Monthly Reset, a longer clarifying and chelating treatment with deep conditioning and a blowout. Root Renewal covers gray between visits. A full-day package, the All-Day Ritual, combines a Scalp Facial, balayage, a precision cut and a home care session, and comes with a month of take-home products.

The studio is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 8pm and Friday through Sunday from 9am to 8pm, and is closed Mondays and Wednesdays. Booking is by appointment only.
