Balise Salon opened in February 2003 at 110 E. Louisiana St., in the older downtown area of McKinney. Owner Cathy Chumbley was there from the opening, after several years of work in Sherman, Texas.
The salon covers haircuts and styling, children's and youth cuts, highlights and color, and hair specialties. Custom color, highlights and keratin treatments are offered for all hair lengths and textures. Consultations are recommended to plan services, and menu prices, services and staff may change without notice.
Stylists work as independent contractors in the same location. Each one schedules their own appointments and sets their own hours. Services are by appointment only, with hours Tuesday to Friday 9 AM to 7 PM and Saturday 9 AM to 3 PM, closed Sunday and Monday. The phone number is 972-542-6414.
Balise also rents private salon suites to licensed beauty professionals. Each suite has a lockable private space, a professional chair and mirror, utilities, high-speed Wi-Fi and on-site restroom access. Availability is limited and varies, so the salon should be contacted for current terms.
