About

The salon is in Beverly Hills, in a building designed by the architect Paul Williams. It opened in December 2012 and centers on color and hair care, with Balayage as its signature service.

Balayage is applied freehand, by hand rather than with foils or caps. Color is placed strand by strand with a brush and backing board, and the process changes with hair length and the result wanted. The salon says the best results come on hair below the shoulders, though the technique can be used on very short hair. Building the color usually takes at least three appointments about six weeks apart. Between visits, a toner and treatment can freshen the color, and the salon says clients can go up to four months without more Balayage.

The salon's color philosophy is that less is more. It also sells the B-Line range for use at home, including shampoos, a styling cream, texture spray, clay and paste. According to the salon, B-Line is sold only here and at Roy Teelucks Salon in New York City. A 75-minute Premiere International Balayage DVD covering three celebrity looks is also offered, and the Balayage Artistry DVD by Nancy Braun is listed for sale on BehindTheChair.com.

Color philosophy holds that less is more, and Balayage is built up over several visits rather than in a single session.

The salon sits in a Paul Williams building in Beverly Hills.
