Authentic Strands is a by-appointment hair studio in Grandview Heights, a walkable neighborhood just west of downtown Columbus. Founder Nonia Wolf opened the studio in 2020 with the goal of building a local community there, and it now serves clients from across central Ohio. According to the founder, some clients also travel in from Cleveland, Kentucky and Miami.

Every service begins with a consultation covering goals, hair history and lifestyle, and new clients have one before their first visit, especially for color and extensions. The studio does not rush appointments. Each client is seen one-on-one in a private studio, and aftercare and return timing are given at the end of every visit. Pricing is shown on the online booking system and is not quoted over the phone.

Extensions are hand-tied and K-Tip, or a mix of both, with the pieces customized at consultation and matched to the client's natural hair. Balayage is painted freehand rather than foiled and grows out softly, while custom blonding pairs a balayage or highlight tier with a gloss or toner. Color covers root retouches, base color, new-client color, gray coverage and going darker with a custom-mixed formula. The GK Keratin Smoothing Treatment is offered at a flat rate and reduces frizz and adds shine without removing natural curl. Blowouts come in four tiers.
