Kristen Overby founded the studio and runs it as its owner and lead esthetician. She holds the Advanced Licensed Esthetician credential, has more than 20 years of advanced skincare experience, and has completed advanced training with skincare educators from across the country. Clients who have visited describe her touch as gentle. The studio is also known for sugaring: CBS 11 News recognized her as a pioneering professional sugaring hair removal specialist in Fort Worth, according to the studio's website.
The menu is built around facials. Customized Yon-Ka facials and Yon-Ka medi-treatments sit alongside resurfacing options such as dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, fruit-acid peels and nano-needling, several of which can be combined in one visit. Oxygen infusions, vitamin C treatments and CBD face and body treatments are also offered. Facial enhancement add-ons can be added to most facials and treatments, and there is a separate facial for teens age 16 and under. A men's restorative facial and a men's grooming package are available.
Sugaring and waxing are a major part of the business. Sugaring uses a honey and lemon blend applied against the direction of hair growth, while waxing uses a blue wax that grips the hair rather than the skin. The studio says most of its clients prefer sugaring over waxing. Lash and brow tinting and brow waxing are also available.
The studio asks for 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. A 25% fee applies to cancellations made within 12 hours of the appointment, and a 75% fee applies to no-shows. According to the owner, about 90% of the business comes from client referrals. First-time and long-term clients are both welcome, and gift cards are available.
Each treatment is tailored to the client's skin concerns, goals and day-to-day lifestyle, with Yon-Ka customized facials and medi-treatments as the core of the menu.
The studio is described as peaceful, relaxing and welcoming.
