Allusions has offered hair loss solutions for nearly 30 years and works with men and women who are dealing with thinning hair, extreme breakage or excessive shedding. The business also works with clients who have alopecia or trichotillomania. It encourages people to get in touch as soon as they notice thinning, before the loss is visible, and it lists common causes such as radiation or chemotherapy, medications, thyroid imbalance, iron deficiency anemia and heavy hairstyling.

Each visit begins with a consultation, which is free of obligation and is an informational meeting with a hair loss specialist. A cosmetic consultation adds a short questionnaire about the client's hair loss history and a scalp analysis. The costs of any treatment are discussed at the initial consultation, and there is a consultation fee, which prospective clients can ask about by phone or email.

The menu includes Graduated Enhancement Method, Graftique, Cyberhair, CNC, Hair Extensions, Laser Hair Therapy, MicroPoint Link Therapy, Permagraft, Folligraft and Hair Transplants, along with wigs and hair and scalp treatment products for women. Some options are offered only for women and others only for men, and several are open to both. Wigs, toppers and hair replacement systems are custom designed around the client's scalp, hair and daily routine. Synthetic wigs, Cyberhair and human hair wigs are carried, including children's wigs, and wig shapes can be adjusted to fit the head. Wigs and hair enhancements can be cut, styled and colored, and human hair pieces can be colored.

Services are by appointment only, and walk-ins are not accepted. The business follows strict sanitation and infection control guidelines. Insurance is filed as a courtesy, but clients pay the business directly, and any insurance reimbursement is mailed to the client. The business does not accept wig donations and directs donors to the American Cancer Society and Cancer Family Care.
