AbiPiez Brows

AbiPiez Brows is a brow studio run by Abi in Loft 26, inside Old Town Salon Lofts on the ground level at 1554 N Larrabee St in Chicago. The studio moved from an earlier space on Wells, about a 12-minute walk away. Free parking is available right outside the building. Brow shaping starts with soft wax to clear strays and peach fuzz, then tweezers for detail. For clients who cannot have wax, a full tweeze shape is offered, which leaves more peach fuzz than waxing does. Brow tint uses a semi-permanent dye on the fine hairs in and around the brows, lasting three to four weeks and fading gradually; clients who have had a tint that was too dark can start with a lighter tint. Brow lamination sets the brow hairs upward with a perm solution for six to eight weeks and finishes with a vitamin serum. It is not recommended for clients with eczema or psoriasis, clients prone to allergic reactions, or clients who have never gelled their brows up.

Lash lift and tint is a semi-permanent lift and curl of natural lashes, about an hour long, with lifts lasting six to eight weeks. Lash tint on its own uses black or brown tint, chosen by the client, and lasts four to five weeks. Petroleum jelly is applied under the eye to protect the skin, and the service takes a few minutes with eyes closed. Clients are asked to arrive without makeup to avoid stinging. Lashes must stay dry for 24 hours after a lift, avoiding steam, sweaty workouts, swimming, mascara and crying, and clients wait about nine weeks between lifts.

Clients using retinol or tretinoin are asked to pause at least five to seven days before waxing, including retinol used from the neck up. Clients who have had Botox should wait at least a week and a half before waxing and confirm timing with their injector. Most clients visit every two to six weeks, and every four weeks is suggested for shape and fresh tint. Cancellations or reschedules need at least 24 hours' notice; less notice or a no-show may be charged up to 80% of the booked service. Clients expecting to be more than five minutes late should text or call, and late arrivals may lose their appointment. Tips cannot be added to the card and are accepted by cash, Venmo or Zelle only.
