A Fuse Salon was created in February 1995 in Smyrna by Norman Blaine, and it remains family-owned and operated. The salon describes itself as the longest-established salon in Smyrna. It serves Smyrna and surrounding communities, including La Vergne, Nashville, Nolensville and Murfreesboro.

On the hair side, the salon offers men's and women's haircuts, beard trims and shaping, precision fades, and styling for special occasions. Color work covers full color, highlights and lowlights, balayage and ombre, color correction, root touch-ups, and glazing and toning, and color can also be used to cover gray. Other services include blowouts for curly, textured and straight hair, hair extensions, and texturizing. The salon says its team has more than 60 years of combined experience between them, and stylists take ongoing education to keep up with new techniques, styles and technology.

The esthetician menu includes facials tailored to each client's skin needs, made with premium products, with dermaplaning or a chemical peel available as add-ons. Lash extensions add volume, length or both, and a lash lift with tinting curls and darkens natural lashes. Brow lamination sets and styles brow hairs, and brow tinting adds definition. Waxing covers the face, body, bikini and underarms, with full body packages also available. The salon uses gentle, high-quality waxes, recommends a patch test for first-time clients with sensitive skin, and asks that hair be about a quarter inch long before the appointment.

For weddings, the salon offers bridal styles from updos to loose waves, and for proms and dances it offers straight styles and voluminous curls. Special event appointments are recommended at least eight weeks ahead. Walk-ins are limited, so scheduled appointments are preferred. A credit card secures each booking, and changes need at least 24 hours' notice; late cancellations, no-shows and arrivals more than 15 minutes late can carry a 50% charge or a reschedule. Clients are taught how to keep their look between visits, with guidance on trim timing, color aftercare and extending a blowout.
