The salon works with two loc systems, Sisterlocks and Microlocks, and describes its services as premium, aiming for a natural look for men and women of all ages. It also offers maintenance for brotherlocks and interlocks, plus hair coloring and styling.

Most new clients start with a consultation. For Sisterlocks, that visit covers gathering information, assessing the hair, sharing educational materials and installing about 8 to 12 sample locs so clients can see the result. The Sisterlocks consultation costs $50, is non-refundable, is credited toward the installation balance and stays valid for 30 days. The Microlocks consultation is about 30 minutes and covers the process, maintenance and price, for $50, also non-refundable and valid for 30 days.

The establishment, or locking session, is the main appointment. A Sisterlocks session usually takes one to three days, about eight to ten hours each day. Installation starts at $1,700 for up to 4 inches of hair, with $60 for each additional inch and a $75 fee for high density or a head circumference over 23 inches. Microlocks takes one to two days, about six to eight hours each day, starting at $900 for the first 4 inches, with $50 per additional inch up to 8 inches and the same $75 high-density fee. Either session requires a $100 non-refundable deposit, paid by cash or credit card and applied to the balance.

Before a Sisterlocks session, clients are asked to shampoo with their usual shampoo 24 hours ahead, skip blow drying and avoid oils or conditioner. Clients coming in for a consultation should have natural hair free of braids and products. A follow-up visit about three to four weeks after the locking session includes a free re-tightening after the first shampoo for Sisterlocks, and Microlocks locks are evaluated at that point. Retightenings are scheduled every six to eight weeks for both systems.

Transfer clients, whose locs were installed by another consultant and who have not been retightened at the salon within the past eight weeks, have their own consultation for $50, credited to future service. Transfer service is $175 for up to 2.5 hours, with $60 for each additional hour. Repairs for bunching, holes and reattachments are also offered, priced at $60 per hour for Sisterlocks, and the salon asks Microlocks clients to stay on a regular retightening schedule to avoid slippage, breakage and bunching.

The salon presents Sisterlocks as a maintenance system rather than a hairstyle, and says it offers a personalized experience from consultation through installation and ongoing maintenance.
