The business began in 2014 as Patricia Marie Salon, a small neighborhood studio in Lincoln Park, Chicago. It was rebranded as 707 Hair Studios in 2020 and now has locations in Chicago and Bradenton. The salon describes itself as a multi-state, guest-centered brand, and Patricia Munro and Eliot Munro founded it together.

In the salon, clients can book haircuts, blowdries, color, barber services, extensions, eyebrow work and makeup on request. Color work ranges from root touch-ups and highlights to balayage, ombre, color correction and fashion colors. The salon also offers wedding services both in the salon and away from it. Color appointments need a consultation booked ahead by phone, and highlight appointments must include a toner and Olaplex.

Delivery services bring a stylist to a client's home or office for color, haircuts, blowdries, braids, keratin smoothing and extensions. For women's haircuts and blowouts, clients are asked to wash their hair before the stylist arrives. Highlights booked through delivery are priced by phone.

Custom kits for color, root touch-ups, Olaplex and toning are sold as bundles at discount pricing and are available for pickup only. The salon also offers chair rentals for hairdressers who want to work independently, with access seven days a week, their own hours, towels, a backbar, internet, beverages for clients and online booking.

The 707 Umbrella Academy is the salon's education program for hairstylists, combining weekly group sessions with one-on-one instruction. Students practice on mannequin heads before moving to real models, and workshops cover client building, busy schedules and personal marketing. The academy offers continued education hours that help stylists keep an Illinois license, and the salon is a Continued Education Sponsor. The 707 Social Club adds art-based community get-togethers, including monthly open mics for local musicians and artists.
