Soultuary Salon was founded by co-owners Rachel Ocean and Leesha Jaffe as a collaborative space where independent stylists run their own businesses and set their own schedules. The team includes apprentices, stylists, educators and owners, and the salon describes itself as a tight-knit family rather than a typical team. The salon takes a holistic approach to hair and wellness, with personalized, low-toxicity services. The salon is a certified Green Circle Salon and, according to the salon, recycles up to 95% of beauty waste through the program, including hair, foils and color tubes. It also says it is working toward becoming carbon-neutral.
Color appointments start with a detailed consultation about goals, skin tone and hair type. Highlights are placed by hand, foil by foil, and colorists map the desired result for three, six and twelve months before mixing color. Highlight and lowlight appointments usually run 1.5 to 4 hours and typically include a bond-protecting treatment as needed, a finishing toner, a shampoo with scalp massage and a blow-dry. Balayage is hand-painted by the colorist on every section, and placement is planned around face shape, parting and how the hair grows. Significant lightening on darker hair is usually built over two or three sessions.
Extension visits always begin with a consultation covering look, lifestyle, hair condition, method and timeline, and pricing is quoted at that visit rather than set as packages. The salon uses premium human hair and keratin-based bonds with no synthetic blends or harsh chemical adhesives. The blowdry bar offers drop-in blowouts, weekly and biweekly memberships, and packages. Blowdry bar services can be booked online, while other clients can book a consultation or fill out an intake form to be matched with a stylist. Bookings can be made by phone at (941) 254-1055 or by text. A credit card is required to reserve, kept on file for future reservations and fees, and appointments changed or canceled with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a fee. Full policy details are on the salon's Policies page.
Takes a holistic approach, offering personalized, low-toxicity services in a collaborative environment, with a stated focus on sustainability and wellness.
The salon describes its plant-filled space as relaxing and warm, with a collaborative feel.
