Philip Wazny

Philip Wazny, NMD, is a physician at Health Matters and holds certification and licensure from the Arizona Naturopathic Physicians Medical Board. He completed his naturopathic training at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Tempe, graduating in 2005, and he received the Daphne Blayden Award at graduation for academic excellence, compassion and perseverance. Before naturopathic school he earned a magna cum laude bachelor's degree in molecular, cellular, developmental biology and biochemistry from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Post-graduate training included a two-year residency with Klee Bethel, MD, focused on prolotherapy and platelet-rich plasma therapy, followed by an internship in regenerative medicine. He then practiced for several years alongside an established naturopathic physician in the community. Earlier, he served two years with the United States Peace Corps in Honduras, working with midwives, physicians and nurses in primary care, and he speaks fluent Spanish.

His clinical focus includes hormone imbalances, GI and digestive issues, fatigue, weight gain and chronic complicated disease. With children, he puts weight on building a trusting relationship and carries out well-visits that include nutrition and supplementation. He also speaks and writes on health and wellness and takes part in podcasts in his areas of expertise.
