Philip Wazny, NMD

Philip Wazny, NMD, practices as a physician at Health Matters. He received his naturopathic medical degree from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Tempe, Arizona, in 2005, and he received the Daphne Blayden Award at graduation. Earlier he completed a magna cum laude bachelor's degree in molecular, cellular, developmental biology and biochemistry at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Earlier in his career he worked as an emergency medical technician and spent two years with the United States Peace Corps in Honduras, working alongside midwives, physicians and nurses in primary care. He then completed a two-year residency with Klee Bethel, MD, training in prolotherapy and platelet-rich plasma therapy. He is licensed and certified by the State of Arizona Naturopathic Physicians Medical Board.

He chose naturopathy for its emphasis on preventing disease and optimizing lifestyle to support wellness. Outside the clinic he speaks and writes about health and wellness, including public speaking and podcasts in his areas of expertise.
