About

Martin O'Toole runs Pasadena Cosmetic Surgery, a plastic surgery practice in Pasadena, California, which he founded in 1988. He holds an MD and is a board-certified plastic surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is double board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, and he became board certified in general surgery during his general surgery training. He belongs to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the California Society of Plastic Surgeons.

He earned a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from the University of California, Irvine, and his medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine, now Ponce Health Sciences University, in 1988. He completed a six-year general surgery residency at Huntington Memorial Hospital, where he served as chief resident, followed by plastic and reconstructive surgery training at Texas A&M University College of Medicine and Scott & White Medical Center. That plastic surgery training covered breast, body and facial surgery, along with microvascular, cranio-facial and hand surgery. He returned to the Los Angeles area and has practiced in Pasadena since becoming board certified in plastic surgery.

His surgical work includes breast augmentation, reduction, lift and reconstruction; body contouring such as tummy tucks, liposuction, body lifts and post-bariatric surgery; and facelifts, brow lifts, eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty. He also performs microvascular reconstruction, cranio-facial surgery and hand surgery. He is volunteer faculty for the surgical residency program at Huntington Memorial Hospital, has taken part in medical mission trips to South America, including El Salvador, to repair cleft lip and palate, and attends national conferences to keep up with new techniques.
