Lisa M. Appelt

Lisa M. Appelt is a Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. She holds a New York State license as a Nurse Practitioner in Family Health and a New York State license as a Registered Nurse, and she is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SUNY New Paltz, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Concordia College and a Master of Science from Long Island University at Post, where she specialized in obstetrics and gynecology. Her certifications include American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program and American Red Cross Mass Care. She has worked in obstetrics and women's health across the life span from adolescence through perimenopause. Her early work was in maternity and high risk antepartum and postpartum care at Northwell University Hospital. She then worked at Contemporary Women's Care, an independently owned OB-GYN office in Suffolk County, before joining Women's Health & Wellness. Her clinical interests include adolescent care, perimenopausal management, contraceptive management, well women's exams, preconception counseling, and in-office obstetrical and postpartum care. She is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association Long Island Chapter and Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health, and she speaks English and Italian.
