Dr. Walter Dawson

Dr. Walter Dawson is a Primary Care Provider and Acupuncture Physician at Dawson Integrative & Functional Medicine in Orlando, licensed by the State of Florida in both roles. Before medical school, he spent more than 20 years in the medical field as a medical assistant, telemetry technician, phlebotomist and paramedic.

He is board certified as an Acupuncture Physician and Primary Care Provider in Florida and holds national certification from the NCBAHM, formerly the NCCAOM. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Professional Health Studies and a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine, both from Florida College of Integrative Medicine in Orlando. In acupuncture, he specializes in cosmetic treatments for the face and neck and uses Traditional Chinese Medicine for conditions such as PTSD, stroke rehabilitation, Bell's palsy, headaches, addictions, symptom relief during chemotherapy or radiation, and acute and chronic pain.

His functional medicine work centers on hormone and thyroid health, adrenal fatigue, weight management, nutritional deficiencies, gut health, methylation, chronic disease reversal and prevention, pain management, autoimmune and immune health, mold illness, mental health, and lifestyle factors such as nutrition, sleep and stress. He sees both pediatric and adult patients and is accepting new acupuncture and Functional Medicine patients. Telemedicine visits are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 2pm, and in-office visits are held Mondays from 9am to 2pm and Wednesdays from 8am to 4pm.
