Dr. Joseph Day

Dr. Joseph Day is an optometric physician who leads East Main Vision Clinic. He has been treating patients as an eye doctor in the Puyallup Valley for over three decades. He completed his training at Pacific University School of Optometry, graduating in 1986, and he has held the presidency of the Washington State Optometric Association. He is also listed on the clinic's dry eye, leadership and Behind the Brand teams. His areas of focus are dry eye care, glaucoma and specialty contact lenses. He works as a functional optometrist, paying attention to how the brain and eyes coordinate. Routine visits check visual needs along with overall eye health, and he uses a microscope to examine the front of the eye for dryness, allergic reactions and eyelid conditions. He is one of the nation's top authorities in these fields. For the back of the eye, he relies on a digital retinal scan and dilating drops to screen for glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. He and his staff assess reported symptoms to judge whether Neurolens lenses could suit a patient. During first visits, he works alongside dry eye specialists Katiee and Dani. He has also delivered educational presentations to school nurses in area districts and has served as treasurer of Jamie's Heart Foundation.
