About

Cylburn E. Soden, Jr., MD is a board-certified dermatologist and a Mohs micrographic surgeon with fellowship training. He treats skin cancer and works across cosmetic and general dermatology, including non-surgical facial rejuvenation using fillers and neurotoxins.

He holds a biochemistry degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and an MD from Washington University in St. Louis. An internal medicine internship at the University of Maryland Medical Center came next. He trained in dermatology at the University of California Irvine under Dr. Paul Kelly and Dr. Christopher Zachary, then finished a Mohs surgery fellowship with the American College of Mohs Surgery in Macon, Georgia, in 2011. Over the course of his training he carried out close to 2,000 complex Mohs and reconstruction procedures.

He practiced dermatology as an Army physician at Fort Bragg in North Carolina and worked as a general medical officer in Iraq. He left military service in summer 2010 with the rank of Major. His special areas include surgical removal of keloids, particularly on the ears, and excimer laser treatment for vitiligo. He has advanced training in lasers suitable for every skin type, in skin fillers and in botulinum-type products.
