About

Carisa Champion is a cosmetic surgeon at Tulsa Surgical Arts who treats the face, breast and body. She also sees patients at the Oklahoma City practice through the week. She holds DO, JD and MPH degrees, all from Nova Southeastern University in a combined six-year program, after undergraduate work at Florida State University. Her general surgery training took place at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, preceded by training in Pennsylvania. She completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery at Tulsa Surgical Arts. She has about ten years of surgical experience and has been a diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery since 2024, according to the ABCS directory.

Her work centers on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Body procedures she performs include mommy makeovers, arm, leg and liposuction surgery, wound surgery and labiaplasty. The site describes her as compassionate and detail-oriented, and says she was the first person to attend and graduate from medical school, law school and a master's program in public health all at once.

Outside surgery, she served as a White House intern and worked with the Department of Health and Human Services on health initiatives. She also worked for NASA's Office of the Chief Health and Medical Officer on standards and policies. She was Lead of Patient Education for Care Access, taught Professional Ethics and Health Law to public health and medical students, and mentored Health Law students in national competitions. According to a 2020 The DO article, she was a Surgical Communications Fellow for the ABC series Grey's Anatomy, consulting on medical aspects and helping write scripts, and she wrote for the show on issues including human trafficking.
