Zephyr Studio

Zephyr Studio is a hair studio at 9300 S I-35, Suite 300, in Austin, located inside the Phenix Salon Suites. The studio offers non-gender-specific services, and its space has a retro feel with warm decor. It is open Thursday and Friday from 10am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 4pm, and is closed Sunday through Wednesday.

The menu is built around color and haircuts. Color correction is priced at $200 an hour, and the time needed varies by service. Timed sessions run from 1 hour to 6 hours, with fixed prices for each block. A free 30-minute color consultation is required before any color correction booking and for new clients booking the 6-hour session. Short clipper cuts take about 45 minutes, cost $65, and are offered to existing clients only.

Color appointments need a credit card on file through the studio's secure payment system. Color correction also requires a $250 non-refundable deposit. Clients must give 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule color appointments and 24 hours for haircuts. Late cancellations or reschedules are charged 50% of the service fee, and no-shows are charged the full service fee. Payment is accepted in cash, through Venmo, Cash App and PayPal, and by Visa or Mastercard via Square.

The studio carries Hairstory and Cult + King products, which it calls eco-friendly and non-toxic. Several of them can be bought online, among them a wash, a hair balm, a hair protector, a texturizing spray, a setspray and a balm refill. Suavecito pomade is also sold in the studio. Under its no-hate policy, the studio bars discrimination against anyone for their racial background, skin tone, faith, sex or gender identity, sexual orientation, birthplace, age or disability. The website also links to donations for Casita Maria, an arts and education organization that serves the South Bronx and East Harlem.
