Zen Head focuses on head spa treatments, with facials that can be added to them. Every session begins with a scalp analysis using a handheld microscope, and the business uses Japanese equipment, including a circular water halo. The Zen Signature runs about 60 minutes and combines aromatherapy, a heated eye mask, double cleansing, a scalp elixir, a hair mask and steam, followed by up to 30 minutes of downtime.

Clients can add a Glow Facial, a hydrating treatment designed for dehydrated skin and suitable for all skin types, or an O2 Facial, which adds about 30 minutes to the visit. The O2 Lift Facial + Zen Signature is a longer option that infuses oxygen, plant-derived stem cells, peptides and enzymatic botanicals into the skin, and it is listed at $230. Dermaplaning, a non-invasive treatment that removes dull dead skin and peach fuzz, is listed at $40 and takes about 30 minutes at the Parkville location.

Booking has a few practical steps. A credit card must be on file to book, even when paying with a gift card, and it is charged only for a late cancellation or a missed appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may be charged 50% of the service price at the provider's discretion, and a no-show is charged the full price. Intake and consent forms must be signed before a first service. Clients with recent Botox or fillers are asked to wait at least 14 days before a head spa or facial, and those with fresh color are asked to wait 72 hours. Hair should be left unwashed before the visit, with heavy styling products avoided that day, and clients with extensions should mention them at booking.

Products are sulfate-free and come from Surface Hair and Image Skincare. Clients with a sensitive scalp can have products adjusted based on the scalp analysis and intake form. Head spa treatments are available to men and to clients with bald or shaved heads, and clients who are pregnant can book a head spa. Digital gift cards can be bought online at any time, or in amounts of $100, $150, $180 or $200, or a custom amount. Specials are shared through the newsletter and social media and applied when mentioned at booking or checkout.
