WTHN was launched in November 2019 and was founded by Michelle Larivee, who serves as Founder and CEO. Co-founder Dr. Shari Auth is the Chief Healing Officer and designed the proprietary training program that all healers complete. The stated mission is to make acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine more accessible.
A first visit begins with a personalized consultation covering body, lifestyle and health goals, followed by a pulse and tongue diagnosis. The treatment can include acupuncture, cupping or both, and ear seeding, which is acupressure applied in the ear without needles. Each visit closes with a written treatment plan and any recommended herbs. Sessions can also include guided meditation, a sound bath and aromatherapy while resting on heated beds. Many clients first report feeling relaxed, and some adjust to the needles over two or three sessions, according to the business.
Services are organized around single sessions, a new client three-pack, cupping as an add-on, facial acupuncture, fertility support packs and monthly memberships. Facial acupuncture is offered as a skin rejuvenation service and a new client session includes gua sha, facial and body acupuncture, LED light therapy and a facial rejuvenation plan. Fertility packs are available for preservation, partner support, conception support and IVF support, in six, eight and twelve session options. Acupuncture is offered during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Treatments and memberships are FSA and HSA eligible, and receipts are provided for insurance reimbursement.
The studios are on Manhattan and Brooklyn streets near subway lines, and Williamsburg has street parking and nearby garages. Four of the five studios, Flatiron, Williamsburg, Upper West Side and NoHo, list the same hours: weekdays 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and weekends 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. The business also sells herbal remedies, acupressure tools, cupping kits, ear seed kits and beauty tools in its boutique and online shop, and says its products are carried in more than 200 retailers. A refer-a-friend program offers $50, and the business offers a corporate wellness program and accepts wholesale inquiries.
WTHN practices Traditional Chinese Medicine, using acupuncture, herbal remedies and cupping together or on their own. Each client is matched with a healer at the start of care and receives a personalized treatment plan.
The studios are modern and calm, with soothing scents, gentle lighting and private treatment rooms designed for deep relaxation.
