Carrie Lindsey was founded in 2016 by esthetician Carrie Lindsey and has been building a client following since then. A second studio in NoHo opened in fall 2023. The business describes itself as a creative community where skin care meets art, fashion, music and energy work.

Every session is private, held in a calm, spa-like space. A custom facial opens with a consultation and an assessment of the skin, and the esthetician changes the treatment as the session progresses. Based on what the skin needs, a custom facial can combine a thorough cleanse, focused exfoliation, extractions where they're appropriate, massage for the face, a treatment mask, and 10 minutes under LED light.

The studio is known for its sculptural facials, a non-surgical option built on massage of the facial muscles and fully customized to each client. Other signature offerings include microcurrent facials, custom acne facials for persistent or inflammatory acne, a teen-focused facial, brow bar services and in-studio makeup for everyday, editorial, bridal and lesson sessions. A signature service called The Treatment, priced at $475, combines core energetics with a custom facial and a somatic approach to tension in the facial muscles and connective tissue.

The Fort Greene studio is open every day from 11 am to 6 pm. The NoHo studio is open Monday, Wednesday through Sunday, 11 am to 6 pm, and is closed on Tuesdays. Appointments can be booked through the online booking portal, or by phone or email during studio hours. Clients are asked to read the studio policy before booking.

The online shop sells skin care, makeup, jewelry, fragrance and home and bath products, and gift cards can be used both online and in the studio. Clients who buy skin care products can also return unopened items within a set window, under the shop's return rules.

The business describes its approach as holistic, looking at the whole person rather than only the skin. Each treatment is customized to the client's skin needs, and facials are adjusted over time to how the skin responds.

Each studio is set up for one-on-one treatments, and the NoHo studio is described as intimate and personal.
