Woo started in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1992. It was founded by Woo Caroland, who began her career in New York's art galleries, at Sotheby's and in the art department of Vanity Fair. Atlanta's first Woo, the Peachtree Battle store, opened in 2008 and was the first Woo location in Georgia. The West Paces Ferry store followed in 2015 as the second Georgia location, and Sandy Springs opened in late 2025 as the third. Sandy Springs has the largest retail floor of the Atlanta stores, a full-service spa room and a dedicated lash and brow room, and it is also used for parties, events and gatherings.

Services are spa treatments, facials, waxing, brow shaping and makeup for special occasions. The business says its Atlanta teams offer the highest level of product knowledge and customer service, and describes itself as locally owned with in-store expertise. It says its original Nashville store has drawn attention from Lucky Magazine, Vogue, Town & Country and The Tennessean.

Online booking is available at Nashville and Sandy Springs. Charlotte, Peachtree Battle and West Paces Ferry book by phone, and makeup appointments are booked through the Nashville number. A 24-hour cancellation policy applies, with a 50% fee for cancellations made less than 24 hours ahead and the full service amount charged for no-shows. At Peachtree Battle and West Paces Ferry, facial clients arriving more than 15 minutes late are seen for the rest of their time, while brow appointments more than 5 minutes late are rescheduled and charged as a no-show. Charlotte asks clients to avoid retinoids and topical medications for 3 days before facial peels and for 1 week before waxing. Gift cards can be bought on the website.
