Wink Beauty Bar was started by owner and aesthetician Sarah Nellis after she moved to Arizona. The studio is at 14144 N. 100th St in Scottsdale and offers eyelash extensions, skincare and waxing.

Extensions are customized in thickness and length and are never applied if they would be too long or thick for natural lashes. Only synthetic mink is used. A full set takes about two to three hours, and fills are recommended every two to three weeks. Fills for extensions applied elsewhere are offered after a consultation, but the salon will not fill work that is damaging or improperly applied.

Skincare is built around the Skin Script line, which is paraben free and fruit based and is chosen by skin type and concerns. Options range from an enzyme treatment for new clients and dermaplaning to hydro glow facials, a nano-infusion treatment that needs no numbing, and microneedling. Microneedling clients arrive 30 minutes early for numbing cream and should expect a couple days of downtime. Chemical peels (glycolic, lactic or TCA) are done in a series of six after an enzyme treatment.

Waxing is performed only by a licensed aesthetician for both men and women, using hard and soft wax with a new applicator each time. Hair should have at least two weeks of growth, or about a quarter inch.

Booking requires a credit card. Cancellations without 24 hours notice are charged 50 percent of the appointment and no-shows are charged in full. Arriving more than 15 minutes late counts as a cancellation. Services are non-refundable, and clients with a concern should contact the salon within 24 hours of the appointment.

Treatments are customized to each client, and extensions are never applied too long or thick for a client's natural lashes.
