Two friends, Kristen and Sarah, founded the salon in 2019 with the aim of bringing a city-style energy to the suburbs. Color, cuts and styling are the core of the work, and Kristen, the owner, leads the color side of the business.

Each stylist works as an independent contractor with their own hours and work days, and some see clients outside the posted salon hours. Because of this, prices can differ between stylists. Color services are customized after a consultation, so the final price may be higher or lower than the listed starting price. Appointments can be requested through an online form that lets clients choose Kristen, Tiffany, Alicia, Lillie or the first available stylist.

The salon is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 am to 7 pm, Thursday and Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm, and Friday from 11 am to 5 pm. It is closed Monday and Sunday. The building is not visible from the street, so the salon suggests parking in the lot for the Gman Restaurant and walking west toward the man-made lake. Treatments added to another service include a wash; when booked alone, the hair is washed but not blown dry.

The salon sells Davines, R+Co and Moroccan Oil products online with delivery to the door, along with Oi oil, Oi shampoo, Oi conditioner and Smooth Styler. The salon describes Davines as a family-owned brand that has been around for more than 40 years, a certified B Corporation since 2016, and free of sulfates, parabens and phthalates. The salon also describes its chlorine treatment as vegan and cruelty-free.

The salon aims to bring a Portland-style energy to a suburban setting, with a focus on color, cut and style.
