WAXON Capitol Hill

WAXON was established in 1999 with its flagship location on Capitol Hill. A second Seattle location is in Belltown. The studio describes itself as the original home of the Brazilian wax and as a premier waxing and beauty destination in the city, and it says it was the first Seattle waxing studio to openly serve female, male and non-binary clients.

Waxing is the core of the menu and is open to clients of every gender, covering body and facial areas. Back, shoulders and male Brazilians are among the most requested services. For intimate waxing such as Brazilian, clients are asked to note their anatomy so they can be matched with staff trained for that work. The team is made up of licensed estheticians.

Lash extensions come in three styles. Classic gives natural-looking length and definition with a mascara-like finish. Hybrid pairs classic lashes with volume fans for texture and fullness. Volume uses lightweight fans for the fullest look. Sets are customized to eye shape, natural lashes and the level of drama the client prefers. Because lashes shed with the natural cycle, regular fills keep the set full. Clients are asked to arrive with clean lashes and no eye makeup when possible.

Memberships suit clients who return on a schedule. The Lash Fill Membership is $140 per month and includes two fills, roughly $70 each when both are used, and members receive 10% off waxing. The Bare Essentials membership is $65.60 per month and includes one Brazilian wax each month. The Uncensored membership is $122.40 per month and includes one 60-minute custom waxing session, which can be divided among areas such as Brazilian, legs, brows, underarms and face. Bare Essentials and Uncensored members also get 10% off other wax, lash and brow services and retail products. Memberships have a two-month minimum commitment, and unused credits are non-refundable. Lash extensions can be booked without a membership.

Booking terms: cancellations made 24 hours or more in advance carry no penalty. Cancellations made later are charged a 50% fee, and no-shows are charged 100%. The studio states that this policy helps it consistently pay employees a living wage. Hair should be at least a quarter inch long before a waxing appointment, and the studio recommends booking waxing every four to six weeks.
