Wax by Des is in Studio 513 at 917 W 18th Street in Chicago. It is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 10 PM and Saturday from 9:30 AM to 7 PM, and it is closed on Sundays. Brow services make up much of the menu, alongside full-face and body waxing, lash services and facials.

Brow services range from waxing combined with a custom-blended tint to a wax that uses a stain, which colors both the skin and the brow hairs. On the skin, the stain can last up to 7 to 14 days; on the hairs, it can last several weeks. How long it holds depends on the client's skin type and how well they follow aftercare. Brow lamination and lash lifts are also offered. A patch test can be added to any service. It is performed behind the ear and must be completed at least 48 hours before a lash lift or brow lamination. Bundles pair several services, including brow mapping, a full-face wax, a lash lift with tint, a brow lamination with tint, and underarm waxing.

Facials use Dermalogica professional products. Options include a soothing facial with a custom mask and hand, neck and shoulder massage, a lymphatic facial with warm hand mitts and massage work, and a Diamond Glow facial that includes LED light therapy and an ultrasonic machine. A facial designed for men is also offered, along with a back facial that includes extractions. Add-ons such as eye masks, lip treatments and hand treatments can be booked alongside a facial.

Booking policies ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations, changes and rescheduling. Cancellations made 12 hours or less before an appointment, and no-call no-shows, are charged 100% of the service. Some services require a deposit, which goes toward the final payment and is non-refundable. Buy Now, Pay Later is available for bookings from $50 to $4,000 and needs approval before the appointment. Memberships are offered for regular brow waxing, including a monthly brow, tint, lip and eye mask plan.

The studio focuses on brow, lash and waxing services with a menu of named treatments, and facials are built around Dermalogica products.
