Wax Bar LA has served its community for 17 years, according to the business. It sits in a relaxed garden setting, and clients can park for free on the street in front of the salon or in an adjacent lot behind Honolulu Ave.

The waxing menu covers the face, body and limbs. It includes eyebrow waxing and shaping, Brazilian and bikini options, underarms, and full arms, hands, legs and feet. Men have their own menu, from ears and eyebrows up to a full back or full leg. The business says it is known for Brazilian waxing and expert eyebrow shaping, and that it uses high quality waxes suited to even the most sensitive skin types.

The skin care menu includes a European facial, an acne facial, a teen facial, an express mini facial and a deluxe power facial that ends with a multivitamin power-peel. A back treatment covers cleansing, extractions, massage and a masque. Clients are asked to disclose allergies and any prescription medications or topicals before a wax, facial or peel. Products that cause sun sensitivity, such as retinols, acne medications or antibiotics, may rule out skin care services.

All spray tanning here is done with Norvell products, from a pre-tan spray and post-tan moisturizer to aftercare products clients take home. Two solutions are available: a 24-hour organic formula that is rinsed off once it has developed, and the Rapid One solution, which can be rinsed off one to three hours after application. The mobile service costs $110 and visits Sierra Madre, Pasadena, Glendale, Sunland, Tujunga, Montrose, La Crescenta and La Canada. Brides booking a wedding tan are advised to have a trial session a month beforehand, with the actual tan done two days before the wedding.

Appointments are booked by calling or texting 818-790-6678, and the request should include your name, number and the services you want. Cancellations need 24 hours notice. The salon is open Monday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and it is closed Sunday.
