Wanderlust Salon Ramsey

Wanderlust Salon has two locations: one at 1300 NJ-17 in Ramsey, and one in Suite 20 at 1 Lethbridge Plaza in Mahwah. The Ramsey location is open Tuesday through Saturday, closed on Sundays and Mondays. The Mahwah location is open Wednesday through Saturday, with a shorter Tuesday afternoon and a Friday morning schedule, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Clients can start with a free consultation of about 15 to 20 minutes to talk through their hair goals and to see whether the salon is a good fit before booking. Anyone interested in extensions needs a separate complimentary consultation of about 20 minutes first, which covers length, color matching, pricing and upkeep.

The menu is mostly hair services. Color work includes highlights, balayage and foilayage, single process color, and gray coverage options such as a mini and a single process gray service. Lightening services include Wellaplex and a glaze. Glaze is a demi-permanent treatment that adds sheen and sheer pigment without lifting the existing color, takes about 35 minutes, starts at $65, and is recommended every four to six weeks. Other options include smoothing treatments, perms, curly and short cuts, and several treatment services.

Blowouts start at $55 and cover a shampoo, conditioning and a round-brush blow-dry. Flat iron work and curls are add-ons, with finishes for curls and straight styles, a option for extra long or thick hair, and an extended option for clients with extensions.

Booking works through an online system with a credit card on file. Cancellations made more than 48 hours ahead are free; closer cancellations are charged half the booked services, and cancellations within 24 hours or missed appointments are charged the full amount. Some services require a deposit that is shown at booking; deposits are non-refundable and cover one rebooking. Rescheduling three times carries a fee, and there is a 15-minute grace period for late arrivals. Debit and credit card payments carry a 3.5% fee, and prices are subject to change.
