Vibe Collective was launched in 2017 by co-owners Ashley Vaughan and Penny Prunty, and Penny also serves as the salon's creative director.

The salon describes itself as a space where clients and stylists talk through hair ideas and then carry them out together. Stylists can create any individual look, and the team shares the work of caring for every client, so a visit is closer to a collaboration than a set menu.

The space is decorated with original artwork and plays music. Bookings are made through an online Square booking page, where stylists are listed with prices that vary by stylist. Listed hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 10am to 8pm and Friday and Saturday from 10am to 6pm, with no Sunday or Monday hours listed. Consultations are required for extensions, special event hair and wedding hair.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of an appointment are charged 50% of the scheduled service price, and cancellations within 24 hours or same-day reschedules are charged the full price. Tuesday appointments need at least 72 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule without a charge. New clients booking color pay a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit at booking, and color appointments of four hours or more require a non-refundable deposit from all color clients. The deposit is applied to the service on the appointment day and is forfeited if the appointment is canceled or moved.

The team works as a group, with clients and stylists discussing hair ideas and carrying them out together, and stylists are free to build any individual look.
