Lexi Gomez founded Velvet Hex Waxing Studio, which operates from a suite on East Fort Lowell Road in Tucson. The menu centers on waxing, with most body areas offered in either wax or sugar paste, and extends to brow shaping, lash lifts and tinting, and a short list of facials.
The studio has a relaxed, playful feel, with music, humor and a rock-and-roll, spooky theme. The aim is for every client to feel comfortable, respected and at ease, whether it is a first visit or an appointment in a long-standing routine.
Facials range from a 25-minute customized hydrojelly mask to a Custom Facial tailored to skin type and concerns, a 90-minute Dermaplane Facial with LED light therapy, and a Vagacial designed as aftercare for skin following a Brazilian wax. Packages bundle services at a discount, such as the Velvet Veil, which combines a customized facial, a hydrojelly mask and a scalp massage, or the Full Moon Ritual, which covers a Brazilian, full arms, full legs, underarms and a stomach strip.
Bookings and payments go through the Glossgenius booking page. Several services require a deposit when booked. Clients are asked to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early, and cancellations or reschedule requests made with less than 24 hours notice fall under a cancellation fee of 30% of the scheduled services.
The studio is built around client comfort, with the aim that every visit feels respectful and relaxed. Sugar waxing uses an all-natural sugar paste.
