Valon Salon opened in 1997 with four employees in a small space. Valary Brown founded it and owned and operated it until she retired in fall 2026, when Seola became the owner. The salon describes itself as award-winning.

The team is made up of stylists, assistants and a manager. Services are grouped into cut and style, hair color, smoothing and perms, and treatments. The treatment menu is split into 15-minute and 30-minute services, so a visit can be a quick add-on or a longer session.

Consultations are free. Chemical services priced over $200 need a consultation first and a non-refundable deposit of half the price paid before the appointment. For missed appointments, the salon charges nothing for a first no-show, half the service price for a second, and the full service price for a third.

The salon is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 to 6, Friday from 10 to 5, and Saturday from 9 to 4, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
