Twirly Shears

Twirly Shears provides hair and makeup for brides and wedding parties. Services are mobile, so the team works on site at the wedding venue or bridal suite. The business also keeps a studio in Lakeside, used for training and bridal previews.

The founder, Kandra, began in a traditional salon and later moved into traveling wedding work, shaping the curated bridal experience over about 20 years. The business describes itself as having decades of experience serving brides across California and calls its wedding hair and makeup award-winning. It says it has been featured in People, Glamour, New York Post and Makeup Insider.

Booking starts with a complimentary consultation call that covers the wedding day, the timeline and the needs of the bridal party. Inquiries are recommended six to eight months ahead. Booking requires a completed contract and a retainer fee, and the bride's hair and makeup has a $750 minimum. Hair or makeup can be booked alone, and a small party can add services later, with enough notice for team availability.

Rather than a traditional trial, the team offers a two-hour bridal beauty preview to finalize the look. Previews are scheduled at least two to three months before the wedding, and the same stylists who handle the preview also work the wedding day. Each bridal package includes a touch-up kit, false lash application and full-size lip color. Large wedding parties can be accommodated.

The Bridal Experience starts at $1,100 and covers hair and makeup for the bride with one stylist. The Signature Collection starts at $1,850 and covers the bride and three bridal party members with two stylists. The Curated Collection starts at $2,800 and covers the bride and five bridal party members with two stylists, and it is limited to a few weddings per year. Hair extension installation is offered for the bride, though the extensions themselves are not included. Business hours are 9am to 4pm PST.

Looks are customized to each bride's vision and aim to be natural and long-lasting, centered on the client's authentic features.
