The studio grew out of Jeanne McCoy's years in the industry, including eight years with Intelligent Nutrients and time working with its founder. In 2017 she consulted on a salon suite in the Wellness Center of the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. The salon states that its studio space received a Best in Facility Design award from Minnesota Business Magazine in 2018.

A visit typically starts with a consultation and a microscope look at the scalp. For the Japanese Tohi scalp treatment, a customized steam, scalp massage and a hair mask applied with an infrared cool iron follow, and the appointment ends with a blowout, a natural style or a quick dry with iron work, all included in the price. Clients are asked to describe any scalp or hair concerns in the booking comments. Haircuts include education on clean, non-toxic haircare products and a custom look.

Other services include a cancer care appointment for new hair growth, youth haircuts at introductory pricing, and optional add-ons such as a scalp scrub, a customized hair mask and extra blowout time for curly, thick or long hair. The scalp scrub and hair mask cannot be booked alone. The studio is an affiliate salon for Wigs for Kids, offering free measurement and wig haircut appointments.
