True Hair Love describes its mission as creating an inclusive space where both stylists and clients are valued. The salon says it cares about healthy hair and edges, and it handles hair with care.

The menu is built around braided and twisted protective styles. Knotless braids are offered in many versions, including boho, Goddess, and French curl, along with box braids, cornrows such as Ghana braids, stitch braids and lemonade braids, Senegalese, Bohemian, Nubian, and Marley twists, and crochet kinks. Prices are listed by length and size, and several styles include the hair, while others are priced for the client to supply it. Sew-in weaves are styled and washed in the price, with the client bringing their own hair.

Locs are a major part of the work. Starter locs in comb coil or two strand twist need a consultation before booking, which is held between 12 pm and 3 pm, and maintenance retwists come every four to six weeks. The salon also does instant locs and goddess locs on natural hair, micro locs, loc extensions, reattachment of cut locs, and interlock and loc repair. Ugo hand-makes the Lisa Lonet temporary locs, which use 100% human hair and can be reused. The salon has helped some clients move from braids to locs at their own pace.

Deposits are required within 24 hours of booking and are non-refundable, though a cancelled deposit can go toward a rescheduled appointment. Cancellations are accepted up to 24 hours before the service, and later cancellations carry a $30 fee. Cash is preferred, and cards and Zelle or Apple Pay are accepted, though American Express is not. Clients may be asked to arrive earlier or later than booked when the schedule shifts. Prices may rise for very short hair, extremely thick hair, or extremely straight and thick hair.

True Hair Love also runs a training center that teaches natural hair maintenance and styling, locs, and braiding. Offerings include a one-day beginner braid workshop, an eight-session braid course that includes a certificate of completion, and a ten-session Become a Loc Expert course with mentorship. Students must be at least 14 years old and pay a non-refundable registration fee.

Focuses on healthy hair and edges, and recommends knotless braids over tight box braids because they create less tension on the hair. The salon has helped some clients transition from braids to locs at their own pace.
