The business traces back to Trashy Roots Salon, which opened in September 2007. Owner Anna moved the work to Trashy Roots Studio in 2018, and it now operates from a suite inside Image Studios at 101 Oakview Commons Drive.

Every service includes a consultation, a wash and styling. The studio is open Monday through Thursday and on Sunday from 8 AM to 6 PM, and is closed Friday and Saturday. Questions can be sent by text to 512-365-0156. Cancellations or rescheduling need 24 hours' notice, or the full service is charged. Gift cards are available through the booking page, and the website links to an online shop that sells Innersense products.

The curly cut starts with a consultation to choose a Rezo, DevaCut or Ouidad cutting technique. It includes a scalp clarifying treatment, a deep moisturizing conditioner, customized styling and a diffused finish, along with curl education and product guidance for home care. It takes about 45 minutes or more. Clients are asked to arrive with hair clean, dry and detangled, styled curly with product. The scalp facial is a detox, massage and conditioning treatment lasting about 60 minutes; it does not include styling and cannot be combined with a color service.

Each visit begins with a consultation, and curly cuts are built around curl-specific cutting methods and home-care guidance.
