Christy Price opened Tranquility Day Spa after working as a sole proprietor in Cudahy for 11 years. The spa brings several kinds of service into one location, so a visit can combine a massage, a facial, a manicure or a waxing appointment.
Massage styles include Swedish, relaxation, deep tissue, therapeutic, Himalayan salt stone, prenatal and lymphatic drainage. Facials range from dermaplaning and vajacial treatments to MURAD facials, a customized facial, a men's facial, an eczema control facial and a 24K gold facial. Acupuncture is offered with separate initial and subsequent visits, and the initial visit includes intake and diagnosis.
Appointments are booked online through the spa's Vagaro page, where clients choose a service and a professional. Walk-ins are not taken, though same-day appointments may be possible depending on availability. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice, and late cancellations or no-shows are charged half the service cost. Future appointments require half the cost prepaid when booked. The spa has free parking, disabled access and WiFi, and it is not set up for children.
Two-person massages take place in separate rooms, and clients can upgrade to therapeutic or deep tissue for a small extra charge per massage. Monthly memberships cover massage, facials, manicures, pedicures and Brazilian waxing, with members receiving a 5 percent discount on extra services. Gift certificates are sold online by occasion and by service category.
