Tomy B. Salon was established in 2001 and first opened in Old Westbury. Its Williston Park location opened in 2015 in a building that was bought and rebuilt for the salon. The founder, Tomy Biton, has more than 25 years of experience in hair, and the salon says it has 25 years of experience overall. Clients travel in from Manhasset, Great Neck, Garden City, Jericho, Syosset, Huntington and other towns across Nassau and Suffolk County.

About

Visits begin with a consultation. The first appointment is usually a treatment with no color or cut, and color is discussed afterward. Before every color appointment a pre-color lipid complex treatment is used, and a collagen step can be added. Treatments run about 45 to 90 minutes depending on hair length. Clients are asked to arrive with their hair as they normally wear it, not blown out, since cuts are usually done on dry hair. A new client's consultation takes about 15 to 20 minutes and is free, and a follow-up visit a week after a color, treatment or cut is included at no charge.

Color correction is a major focus. It addresses brassy tones, uneven highlights, banding, color that is too dark, hair that has been over-lightened and tones that did not turn out as planned. Severe cases may be staged over two or three visits, and the consultation includes a strand assessment and a written plan and quote. Extensions also begin with a consultation, and prices are quoted in person after the stylist has seen the hair. A separate studio, Premier Hair Extensions Long Island, offers K-tip keratin extensions.

Treatment days are Thursdays and Fridays, and booking two to three weeks ahead is recommended. Walk-ins are welcome when availability allows, though appointments are strongly recommended. Cancellations and changes need at least 24 hours notice by phone. The salon is open Monday to Friday 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sunday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Free parking is available outside on Hillside Avenue, with a small lot behind the building, a municipal lot one block away and street parking. Clients can enter from the back entrance off the parking lot. Payment is accepted by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and cash, and gift certificates are available in any amount.

The salon works hair in a set order, treating it first, then coloring it, then cutting it, with a consultation to decide what the hair needs.
