Theory Collective

Theory Collective is located at 1215 Yeamans Hall Road in Hanahan. The salon describes itself as a modern lowcountry space with the comforts of clean luxury, and says its stylists are experienced and that it has nationally certified specialists. Stylists work across color, makeup, facials and nail art.

Services are grouped into hair color, cuts, enhancements, and weddings and events. Haircuts are included in every color service, so clients do not book a separate cut. Curly hair must be booked as a curly service, which is handled by designated curl specialists and takes its own timing.

Visits are booked online through Phorest or by texting the salon. New clients pay a credit card deposit to book. Pricing depends on hair level and the products used, and a consultation gives a specific quote. Late cancellations are billed 50 percent of the reserved service, and no-shows are billed the full charge. Parking is limited, so when the lot is full guests can use free street parking on Yeamans Hall Road at the Sledge Street intersection.

Wedding and event services include special event makeup, lash extensions, and upstyles for the client or an entire bridal party. They can be done on-site at the salon or as a private salon bridal party, and are booked through a consultation. Special effects makeup is also offered for events.

The salon sells a full line of hair products, available only through the salon, which it says protects hair health and funds continuing education. E-gift cards come in any amount, including through Square, and Amazon e-gift cards are also offered. Children may only come in for their own appointment, and no additional guests are allowed.

The salon's stated aim is a relaxing, upscale visit that is also educational while the hair is transformed.
