The Waxing Society is a waxing studio in Oak Brook that works from a private suite rather than a shared treatment floor. It focuses on Brazilian and brow waxing and also offers full-body and facial waxing for women and men. Clients travel to the suite from nearby towns including Hinsdale, Elmhurst, Downers Grove and Lombard.

The studio was founded by its licensed esthetician, Lena (Helena Camacho), to offer a more personal experience in a private setting. Each appointment is tailored to the client's needs, and before a service begins the esthetician explains each step. Every visit includes pre- and post-wax care education and personalized aftercare suggestions, and a first-time waxing guide covers preparation, what to expect and aftercare.

Before a wax, hair should be about a quarter of an inch long. For brow waxing, clients are asked not to trim or tweeze beforehand. Brow shape is adapted to the client's face and the look they want, and a desired shape can be described when booking. Current prices appear in the online booking system, and questions or pricing requests can be emailed before booking.

Booking requires a $10 deposit for most services and a $5 deposit for nose and ear waxing. Brow tint and lip waxing have no deposit on the booking page. Returning clients who come back within 8 weeks of their previous visit for the same service qualify for a reduced Society Rate, applied at checkout. Appointments are offered Wednesday and Thursday 9 AM to 8 PM, Friday 9 AM to 6 PM and Saturday 9 AM to 3 PM, and the studio is closed Monday, Tuesday and Sunday. Gift cards are available.

Every appointment is tailored to the client, with each step explained and pre- and post-wax care education included.

A private suite where each booked time is reserved only for that client, and the studio describes itself as judgment-free.
