About

The Stylist Salon is a one-chair studio in Hoboken, founded by its owner, a colorist and educator who ran a salon in Englewood for five years before opening here. It is open Monday through Saturday, 9 AM to 6 PM, and closed on Sundays.

Every visit starts with a consultation that sets the look and the price. Balayage is priced at that consultation based on length, density, starting level and how far the color is taken. Extension install and hair are quoted together, and color correction is quoted based on existing color and the number of sessions needed. Clients are asked not to layer at-home box dye or toner before a correction consultation.

Only one guest is worked on at a time, and appointments are not rushed. The studio's guiding idea is focused attention for each guest. Unlimited coffee and fresh croissants are offered during appointments. Occasion appointments are limited and fill early, especially on weekends in wedding season.

Lightening services include a consultation, hand-painted color, gloss and toner, a bond treatment, a cut and a blowout. Clients receive a plan for home products and timing at the end of services. Suggested upkeep includes a full lightening visit for balayage every three to four months, a gloss or toner around six to eight weeks, trims every eight to twelve weeks, and extension move-ups roughly every six to eight weeks.

Works with one guest at a time, sets the look and pricing in a consultation before any service, and plans color, cut and upkeep together.

A small, unhurried studio where each guest has the chair to themselves.
