The Spa at Ballantyne

The spa sits within The Ballantyne hotel, which is part of Marriott's Luxury Collection, at 10000 Ballantyne Commons Parkway in Charlotte. It is open to hotel guests and local residents from 8am to 8pm every day and has 18 treatment rooms. Reservations are recommended, especially for weekends and busy times, and the spa suggests booking weekend appointments about eight weeks ahead.

The menu covers therapeutic massage, including the Ballantyne Signature Massage, and facials such as anti-aging treatments and customized facials built on premium skincare lines. Body treatments include wraps, scrubs and holistic body therapies, and hydra-therapy is also offered. A Carolina Lavender collection uses regional botanicals, seasonal treatments change through the year, and fitness consultations and wellness programs are available.

Couples can book a private dual treatment room where two people are treated together. Couples' packages can add treatments and vary in massage style and length, from deep tissue to aromatherapy, and reservations are required. The spa says these experiences are popular for romantic getaways, anniversaries and special occasions. The salon handles hair styling and cuts, hair treatments, manicures and pedicures, and expert makeup application is available alongside bridal beauty packages. Groups of five or more can request a personalized package through the spa concierge for bridal parties, corporate wellness events, birthdays and girls' weekends.

Visitors should plan to reach the spa 30 minutes ahead of their appointment to complete check-in. A robe and sandals are issued at check-in, and personal items can be stored in secure lockers. The facility includes separate steam rooms for men and women, a eucalyptus steam room, a sauna, relaxation lounges, an outdoor terrace, and an indoor heated pool with a whirlpool. Steam rooms and relaxation areas are free for anyone with a treatment booking. Treatments with a value of $139 or more also give access to the relaxation lounges, the indoor pool and the locker rooms, subject to availability. These treatments further include the outdoor pool from April through October, except on Saturdays and holiday weekends. On Fridays and Saturdays, locker room use is capped at four hours.

A 20% service charge is added to all services: 15% goes to the service professional and 5% is a facility fee. Gratuities are separate and left to the guest's discretion. Appointments canceled within 24 hours of the start time are charged 50% of the service fee, and no-shows are charged the full fee. The spa and its treatments are for guests 18 and older, while guests 12 and up may use the salon for hair and nail services only. Massage is available only after the 13th week of pregnancy. Recording and photography are prohibited in private spa areas, and mobile phones and electronic devices are not permitted in the spa. Parking is self-serve, with validation offered on a spend of $25 or more.
