The Scott describes itself as a boutique resort in downtown Scottsdale. It is within walking distance of Old Town and downtown Scottsdale, about five minutes on foot from Scottsdale Fashion Square, and about 10 minutes from Scottsdale Stadium. Arizona State University is about 20 minutes away. A 3-mile resort shuttle is available to guests.

The property was reinvented in a $15 million project completed in November 2018. The design draws on old Havana, New Orleans and Bauhaus influences, and the guestrooms use warm wooden furniture and old-world bronze in a Sonoran style. Room types include Pool View, Lagoon View and Courtyard guestrooms, along with suites ranging from one-bedroom Parlor Suites to the Presidential Suite. The hotel has accessible rooms and makes special arrangements when given advance notice.

La Vidorra Spa covers 3,500 square feet and offers massages, facials, body treatments, manicures and pedicures. Bridal parties can book La Vidorra Spa bridal services, and pricing is available by phone. The Canal Club is the on-site restaurant and lounge, with an indoor-outdoor layout and traditional favorites with a Cuban twist.

For weddings, the resort offers ceremony packages, a micro wedding and elopement option, a rehearsal dinner on the Canal Club patio for 20 to 50 guests, and a post-wedding brunch. Ceremonies can take place on Laguna Lawn, a garden space beside a water feature. The resort also hosts meetings, galas, fundraisers, bar and bat mitzvahs, and corporate events, with more than 14,500 square feet of indoor meeting space and ballrooms with natural light. The Scott is part of the Marc & Rose group of hotels, which also includes properties in Phoenix, Flagstaff, Laguna Beach and Carmel.

The Scott is one of the properties of Marc & Rose, an owner-operator hotel company that says it has practiced hospitality since 1962. The resort is a member of 1% for the Planet and contributes one percent of annual sales to approved environmental nonprofits.

Guestrooms use warm wood and old-world bronze in a Sonoran style, with a design influenced by old Havana, New Orleans and Bauhaus.
