The Remedy Wellness Studio

The studio runs from two Illinois locations, one in Grayslake on US 45 and one in Evanston on Sherman Avenue. Its founding owner, Kelly Akuffo, is a licensed massage therapist who leads the practice, and the team also includes licensed massage therapists, a licensed esthetician, and a stretch practitioner and personal trainer.

Massage is the core of the menu. Therapeutic massage is listed at $95 for 45 minutes, $110 for 60 minutes and $155 for 90 minutes, and the studio no longer offers 30-minute massage sessions. Other massage styles include deep tissue, Swedish, sports and prenatal massage, along with myofascial release, the Raindrop Technique, chair massage, cupping and kinesio taping. Athlete massage sessions are reserved for Northwestern University student-athletes and start at $110 for an hour or more.

Targeted stretching is offered as a separate service. A 25-minute Quick Release session is listed at $50, and a 50-minute Total Reboot full-body stretch session at $90.

Skin care covers facials, peels, microdermabrasion, waxing, and eyelash and brow tinting, along with eyelash extensions. Treatments are planned around skin type and condition, including acne-prone, dry, oily, sensitive, combination, and mature or aging skin.

The studio also runs a 12-month paid mentorship called the Professional Pathway for new massage therapists. The Evanston booking page lists Monday, Wednesday and Sunday hours.

The studio's stated aim is to help people pursue optimal health and wellness in a personal way, and to build trust while providing resources for clients on their wellness journey.
